pressure

August 9, 2012

Not gonna lie, it’s always a bit of pressure when photographing other photographers. It’s even more pressure when you know they drove five hours to have you photograph them. But, then you get over it and realize how excited and grateful you are to photograph such beautiful and ahhhhhhsome people. Nicole is a photographer up yonder in Northern Michigan and can see her eye candy here. Nicole, you and your family rock. So happy to have crossed paths with you :)

I’m not sure who would win between light sabering Captain America or light sabering Batman, but I do know that every single one of their images made me smile huge. Loooooooved working with this family!

love in an orchard

Tell my why again I haven’t been photographing in orchards…like…every. single. shoot?

sunshine

This is just what I needed to make me smile today. Blonde curls and sunshine…and the cutest little girl to go along with them :)

guest judge and photogenic

August 30, 2011

Hey, hey…I am the guest judge this week over at iheartfaces! So, if you haven’t entered an image for this week’s contest, get your hiney over there and enter your image before 9 pm CST. The theme this week is “white.” Love it!

Speaking of LOVING it, I absolutely adore this family and their entire session. I have photographed them several times and I kind of can’t get enough of these twinnies and their amazing mom and dad. I know one person can be photogenic, but is it possible for an entire family to be photogenic??

My fave shot of the day…

workshop…and whimsy

July 7, 2011

Whimsy is always more fun then business, so I’ll make it quick. We have opened up three more seats for our September workshop, so please contact me or Travis (or visit our workshop website) if you are interested. Also…for anyone out there interested in our September workshop (whether you have already signed up or not), we are excited to announce that we will be teaming up with Jodi from MCP Actions and will be giving away one free seat to our workshop, as well as some other goodies! We will be announcing sometime this month, so stay tuned for the details!!

And now for the whimsy…

my mood

February 18, 2011

I’ve included a very hidden and subtle hint on my mood in the image below. See if you can find it…

Not very hidden you say? Yes, I am afraid I am a bit transparent when it comes to my bitter dislike towards winter.

I am heading out to Las Vegas for a few days for the WPPI conference…I will return all emails and phone calls when I return.

Happy weekend!

friends

January 27, 2011

One day…long, long ago…in a Michigan where it was warm and green…I photographed my friend, Laurel, and her wee one.  Fast forward to now when I am barely getting around to her images.

Thanks goodness for friends with patience.  Thank goodness for photographer friends who understand the “busy” season.  Thank goodness for these two who have an amazing connection and look so beautiful in front of the camera.

And thank GOODNESS for this friend who inspires me, humors me, supports me, laughs so hard with me until our stomachs hurt, and makes me feel guilty when I don’t exercise.

thanks

November 22, 2010

In this week of all things gratitude, I am feeling extremely humbled and blessed. Today, I am grateful for moments-with-my-family-where-responsibility-and-stress-don’t-exist. So, in honor of that, I am stealing one of those moments and heading out of town for a little pre-Thanksgiving family time. Enjoy this week, my friends. I’ll be back on Wednesday!

winner

May 24, 2010

Once upon a time I had a contest. and Emily (the mother of the two following adorable boys), totally rocked with referrals and she won herself a free session! We met up last week and she was sweeter and even more fun that I had even imagined she would be. The boys worked the camera and played hard. We had a wonderful session and I was honored to finally meet them! The end!
