I fully understand there are a lot of images following these words. But, I couldn’t help it. It’s all because of beautiful people, a family I hold dear to my heart, one of the most amazing locations I have ever been to, and of course, true and perfect love. Chris and Theresa are so special and I’m not sure there is anywhere on earth more perfect for their wedding than Napa Valley, California. So much love and congratulations to you Chris and Theresa!!

Location: Celani Vineyards, Napa Valley

And a few outtakes to wrap up the night. Travis shooting the rings…

And us with our super rad bride and groom!!

Still in Napa, wish we weren’t leaving so soon, but super content and grateful to have spent the weekend with such a special couple and family. Just one for now before we hop on a plane…

john and laura…married

June 19, 2012

I first met John and Laura at their engagement shoot and was pretty much SMITTEN with them. Fun, spontaneous, and absolutely beautiful. I knew that she would look like a princess on her wedding day and that the handsome John would be chill and fun. And they did not disappoint. Although it rained the entire day, they didn’t even blink an eye and the day went on beautifully. Congrats to the happy couple!!!

Location: Grand Traverse Resort and Spa

Pretty, pretty Laura…

How much do I love it that she just plopped on the floor to put on her shoes? Love this girl!

STUNNING pre-bride :)

One of my favorites…

I know. Beautiful kids are sure to follow…

Another favorite…

barbados

December 5, 2011

Very few words tonight…just sharing some images and memories from our recent trip to Barbados.  This amazing little island was so much more than just a tropical getaway.  The scenery, the people, and the fact that I could sit for hours reading a book was priceless.

If you would like to read my musings on travel, photography, and culture, head on over the the Photobiz blog for my article.

Peace and love my friends :)

Travis and I with our Barbadian Bajan adventuring friends, James and Jen!!!!

First comes love (the day before), then comes marriage (wedding day), and then comes THE DAY AFTER!!!! This post wedding shoot wrapped up our time spent with Brett and Erica. All wedding day stress and nerves were gone and we all just had such a great time during this shoot. Adios Mexico!

One of my favorites…Another favorite!

Sigh…another favorite.

Ok, who I am kidding.  I love them in ALL of these!!

Who wishes they had a picture just like this of them on their wedding day?  THIS GIRL!!!  Erica…stunning.

Darren and Yasmeen

Toledo, Ohio

Shoe envy!!!

Whatever Yasmeen’s day job is, I vote she quits and steps into the pages of a fashion magazine…where she rightfully belongs. STUNNING.

Hello Handsome Darren…One of my favorite groom shots EVER.

Gorgeous girls!

I ADORE how Darren treats and acts around Yasmeen.  I love how he is holding onto her as tight as he can.  This is what movies are made of, people.

Anddddd, it’s a wrap!  Good night and CONGRATULATIONS to Darren and Yasmeen!!!

Round 2 of Brett and Erica coming at you. This time it is the wedding day. Heaven in the Riviera Maya that day…

This shot…the one of the groom seeing his beautiful bride coming down the aisle…gets me EVERY time…

Pinwheels and yellow dresses…LOOOOOOVED it!

One of my favorite images of the day…

Oops…another favorite…shot by Travis…

Inspired by an image my friend, Laurel, took in a wedding I shot with her in Mexico last year…

I was a little obsessed with the covered-jungle-beds-on-the-beach.  I read there, napped there, and of course, brought my bride and groom there…

Brett and Erica know how to put on a good beach party.  The last shot of the night was Travis and I are our awesome bride and groom.  A little blurry (we’ll blame it on the alcohol, Dane), but I love it!!

brett and erica…in mexico!

September 13, 2011

Ok, Brett and Erica…I’m ready to head back to the Riviera Maya, soooooo, just let me know when you’re ready and I’ll follow :)

No, really, Travis and I had the most amazing time with this gorgeous and equally fun couple.  Loved their location, loved their friends, loved their family, loved their wedding, loved THEM…times one hundred.

The wedding day is coming, but I just wanted to share a few of these two the day before.  Just hanging out on the beach…

Loooooove the tiny touch…

Travis rocks and captured this next series of awesomeness…

I’ve been on the road and my blog has been quiet, but I just wanted to quickly share Jonathan and Wendy’s beautiful wedding in Petoskey, Michigan. Congratulations you two!!

If there were  an official Bride Rulebook, I’m pretty sure that it would state that a bride is allowed to be a little selfish, maybe even borderline diva on her wedding day.  And I’m positive it would say she isn’t supposed to carry equipment for her photographers on her wedding day.  And no asking everyone else if they need a drink while she gets ready. And DEFINITELY no opening car doors for her photographer.

This was Leyna.  Travis and I were in awe the entire day at her selflessness and making sure everyone was comfortable and happy throughout the entire day.  This girl spreads BURSTS sunshine everywhere she goes.  I was smiling that day.  A LOT.

And then put Leyna and Shane together.  More smiling from me.  They are so beautiful together and are SO happy and in love.

Oh, and all of that about her carrying our equipment and opening our car doors?  It’s all true.  Our conversation as we were packing up to go to the reception with Shane and Leyna…

Travis (my hubby and second shooter): Packing equipment in bags

Leyna (bride):  Oh, Travis, can I help you carry your equipment?

Me (me):  Leyna…you are the bride…NO carrying equipment!

Shane (groom):  Leyna…if there is equipment to be carried, it will be ME carrying it.

Giggle.

The wedding and reception took place at the beautiful Pointe aux Barques Lighthouse in Port Hope.  Fun fact…it is the oldest working lighthouse in Michigan :)

Up, up, up to the top of the lighthouse.  Not an easy task to get approved.  Just ask the COAST GUARD…whom they had to get permission from :)

Oh, the view…sigh…

Are you kidding me, Leyna?  S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G.

I love you, Travis, for getting this shot…

Another of my favorites shot by Travis

I might frame this and put it on MY wall…

I could do an entire blog post JUST on their fabulous details at the reception.  Some of my favorites…

I always hate to admit it, but I weep and sniffle behind the camera quite often at weddings.  It is the happiest day of a the couple’s life, and there are so many special moments.  This moment…the one where Leyna surprised Shane with this dress and showed how much she embraced and loved his Indian heritage, and then danced her little heart out…made me tear up a little more than usual.

Congratulations Shane and Leyna…we are honored to have captured your day and to have been in your beautiful presence :)
