“In this place full of whimsy, I found the perfect summer day.  Here the sun and the shade love me equally.”

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn’t be. And what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?”

- The Mad Hatter

seth and amy…married

June 27, 2011

What a beautiful mix of we-just-walked-out-of-the-pages-of-a-magazine and we-are-so-in-love-and-happiness-radiates-around-us type couple. Seth and Amy, you were more than amazing to work with…I wish you all the love and happiness in the world!!!

I’m not going to lie…I’m a little obsessed with her dress.

Hello Gorgeous…

Hello Handsome…

Thank you Travis…one of my favorites of the day…

LOOOOVE this one…

Sigh…dreamy…

Still laughing about this one.  I’ve photographed him a few times before, so we were already bff’s.  He let it be known that he was fine with the spotlight and tried several times to steal it.  LOVE!!!

Travis stealing this shot…

Jean’s view of the rings…and then Travis’ view.  I think I like Travis’ better…

pocket size

June 23, 2011

I’m not going to lie…I almost packed him in my pocket and took him home with me. The little model opened his eyes on cue, went to sleep when it was time, yawned for dramatic effect, and posed in perfect positions without me asking. Yeah…I almost added another boy to my collection :)

my view of a shoot

June 20, 2011

Interested in a nutshell version of how I approach a shoot?  If so, continue on.  If not, continue on anyway just for the sake of making your trip to my blog worth the time.

I love my wide angles.  The shoot usually starts with a pulled out shot…

..immediately followed by a closeup.

I’m always on the lookout for interesting colors and textures.

Again, another wide angle…

…followed by a tighter shot.

After a few family shots, I focus on JUST the kids…

More wide angles with interesting colors and textures…

After I’m feeling good about the family and individual shots, I focus on the details…

And I always try to make sure I get a good combination of happy…

Soft and quiet…

and silly!!!

“A new baby is like the beginning of all things, hope, a dream of possibilities.”

Have a wonderful weekend friends. See you on Monday :)

today

June 15, 2011

Today is beautiful. Take time to hug the ones you love…
…and it’s ok to take a break from work and play hard…
…and giggle the entire time…
…and remember no matter who you are, there is always someone out there who loves you…

…take a walk, smell the flowers, ride a bike…do something out of your norm…

…laugh a little more because we all know laughing makes everything better…

…and just LIVE and be HAPPY, for there is only one today.

I first met Chris and Amie back in April for their engagement shoot. I knew their wedding day was going to be fabulous. Anyone that will lay on the floor and let me stand on a ladder right over the top of them is awesome in my book. So cool and easy to work with. Congrats Chris and Amie!!

Gasp!  Amie…you are STUN-NING.

Rooftopping!!!
