porcelain dolls

September 28, 2010

Seriously…tell me they don’t look like little porcelain dolls. This is the third time I have photographed these little ones and every time I just want to pack them both in my pocket, take them home, and put them on my shelf. Did I say that out loud? I can’t help it…they are just SO. DANG. CUTE.

bernardo and tracy engaged

September 23, 2010

These two were so classy, elegant, and timeless. If I had my way, I would have dressed them up old Hollywood style and finished up their shoot vintage style. They could rock out the modern…and the vintage…all at the same time. They just KNEW how to work the camera. Bernardo joked all night and teased that he was a male model…I laughed and mocked him. But, now I wonder…perhaps they are secret models on the side…who just happen to be super in love…

Sigh…swoon…love it.

Swoon again…double swoon.

rainy day

September 16, 2010

Another rainy day in Michigan.  Another family rocking it out inside.  Go ahead rain, do your thing…we don’t need the outdoors to have fun.

lars and linsey

September 14, 2010

Welcome to Lars and Linsey’s special day. I first met them here on the streets of Ann Arbor for their engagement shoot. I quickly learned that these two are huge fans of football and Michigan State. I admit…I was half expecting that the mascot Sparty and a football would somehow make their way into the big day. They didn’t…HOWEVER…the football game did make it’s way onto every television available to the bridal party. Turns out they are ALL obsessed! I loved it…it was on while getting ready…on before the ceremony…and on after the ceremony. If I remember correctly, it seems the girls were even cheering or booing even more than the guys…

Linsey’s gift from Lars on their wedding day. Yup, you guessed…Michigan State goods. Go Spartans!

Hello Beautiful…

The winds on their wedding day were crazy.  I am talking INSANE.  We ducked into this parking garage that made a perfect background and had the most delicious light.

Lars and Linsey’s first look.  For those of you who don’t know what this is, it is where the bride makes her grand entrance and the groom sees her for the first time BEFORE the ceremony.  This allows for some beautiful, quiet moments between the bride and groom after he sees her, more time and less stress for us to get pictures of the bride and groom as well as the bridal party, and allows the reception to take place close after the ceremony.

Oh, how I adore these two in this image…

See what I mean?  From the looks of those skies, Mother Nature was very angry.  But, rain and wind paused long enough for a beautiful outdoor ceremony.

Big ol’ thanks to my second shooter, Jessi, for capturing this awesome ring shot.

Quick escape out back to the golf course for some twilight photos.

Aaaaaaand, it’s on to the party.  The little ones ruled the dance floor!

Last, who doesn’t love a little behind the scenes peek?  Here’s to Jessi…my awesome second shooter who pulled great faces and made me giggle while we were waiting for the ceremony to start.

Apparently, this is what I look like when I am trying to show the girls how to be sassy.  Even more apparent is the fact that they don’t need my help.  Rawr girls…work it out!

workshop announcement

September 8, 2010

No, you sillies, I am not holding a workshop.  BUT.  I am announcing a very special, wonderful, brilliant, over the top awesome workshop  by Shannon Sewell.  If you know of her, you are already in love with her work.  If you haven’t, you will be within five minutes of looking at her lovely images.  I was instantly drawn to her images when I was first introduced.   She has a ridiculous talent of stylizing her shoots and then telling a beautiful story through her images.  Her view from the camera is unique and you will find that you just. can’t. stop. looking.  You can find Shannon’s work on her website and her blog.

Intrigued?
