Still in Napa, wish we weren’t leaving so soon, but super content and grateful to have spent the weekend with such a special couple and family. Just one for now before we hop on a plane…

July 7, 2012phillip and martina…married
June 28, 2012Because I hadn’t met Phillip and Martina before the wedding day, I had no idea how it would be to work with them. It took all of 2.5 minutes of photographing them to love them and feel their pure happiness and joy. What a lucky girl I am to work with people like Phillip and Martina. Congrats to the very happy couple…and their beautiful little girl!!!

Taken by my friend and assistant, Laura Finley…
I couldn’t stop taking profile pics of her. I mean…just look at her profile!
Phillip and Martina’s little girl, Peyton, was the cutest accessory of the day :)

Best sexy/beautiful/sassy face ever!

Handsome Phillip waiting for to see his bride for the first time…
Their First Look was perfect and romantic and took place in the perfect setting…the Riverfront in downtown Detroit. For those reading First Look for the first time and scratching their heads in confusion, this is where the bride and groom see each other for the first time before the ceremony. We set up the meeting place, the groom’s spot, and then the bride comes to her groom. The moments after she taps his shoulder is one of the most romantic, beautiful things I could ever photograph. I love what happened here…
Detroit makes a pretty sweet backdrop, eh?
We had the city buildings on one side, and then we turn around and have the city line and water on the other. AHHHHH-SOME!

I seriously gasped when I saw this on the back of my camera. She is so stunning I can hardly stand it…

john and laura…married
June 19, 2012I first met John and Laura at their engagement shoot and was pretty much SMITTEN with them. Fun, spontaneous, and absolutely beautiful. I knew that she would look like a princess on her wedding day and that the handsome John would be chill and fun. And they did not disappoint. Although it rained the entire day, they didn’t even blink an eye and the day went on beautifully. Congrats to the happy couple!!!
Location: Grand Traverse Resort and Spa
How much do I love it that she just plopped on the floor to put on her shoes? Love this girl!

david and lynde…married
June 7, 2012Wedding season is here! I find that photographers either love shooting weddings, or they hate it. There isn’t much in between. I fall on the side of LOOOOOVE shooting weddings. Yes, the days are long, but it is magical for me to capture an entire story throughout the day. I love, love, love my job and love, love, love that I am able to document the most important day of a couple’s life.
David and Lynde were a dream to photograph, the weather was perfect, and having their kids there made it all the more fun. Congratulations to the happy couple (and sweet, little family)!!!

Shots of David taken by my rockin assistant, Laura Finley.

Oh, Lynde…you are LOOOOOOOVELY!

Their little boy…such a cutie…and a character!!!
Could their colors be ANY more awesome?

peter and carmie…married
December 21, 20112011. The year Carmie, her family, and I became fast friends. It started with Peter and Carmie’s engagement session. And then came along the engagement session of her sister, Theresa and her love, Chris. We moved on to Carmie’s gorgeous wedding shower. And finally, we ended the year with Carmie and Peters UH-MAZING wedding. Oh, and did I mention I will be seeing them all again next year for Chris and Theresa’s wedding?
The point is that I have met them, photographed their very special times, and am in love with this family. They are wonderful people and I knew Peter and Carmie’s day was going to be so beautiful and special. Turned out I was right…times ten. The day was perfect and I am so happy to have crossed paths with this beautiful family.
Congrats Carmie and Peter!!!
I know. That dress. Oh, that dress.

Insert Jean shedding a tear as Carmie opened her card and gift from Peter.
Lame that all houses and venues don’t come with built in windows like this :)

Oh, stunning and beautiful Carmie…
Peter, you handsome devil (photographed by Travis)
I love these next two SO much :)
My favorite shot of the day. At St. Hugo in Bloomfield Hills…the site of the ceremony.

After the ceremony, we headed to to Oakland Hills Country Club for a cocktail hour. Adore this shot of the groomsmen.

December brings a chilly, slightly eerie, but COMPLETELY romantic feel when shooting outdoors. The colors, lights, everything is just lovely. I SO love these shots of them outdoors and ESPECIALLY the shot on the left of Carmie, taken by Travis.

And last, we ended up at Andiamo in Warren for their reception. Sheesh…words do not describe the transformation from an already elegant and beautiful venue into a sparkling, magical reception site.

jonathan and tracy…married
December 8, 2011The Pine Knob Mansion in Clarkston held the very beautiful and intimate wedding of Jonathan and Tracy. Sigh…everything about the day was so relaxed and every detail was perfect. Makes my job easy :) Congrats to the happy couple!

hans and lauren…married
October 12, 2011Their day started at the lovely Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church in Detroit. This church was one of the most beautiful churches I have ever photographed at.

Sigh…love Hans and Lauren in this. The sun peeked out for just a few moments, and we quickly took advantage.
We made a quick pit stop at the Inn on Ferry Street in Detroit…

And then we moved on the the reception…held at the Piquette Ford Plant in Detroit. Wow. I told Lauren that if I could do my wedding reception over again, this would be place. And to top it off, they had amazing taste in decor and ambience…

What?!?!? I was in awe of this “detail” at the reception. Kris from Artcasters starts with a blank canvas, and then continues to paint throughout the evening, until he finishes the painting, and then GIVES IT TO THE BRIDE AND GROOM!!! Best. Idea. Ever.
The guys from Startrax were some of the best DJ’s and entertainers I have ever worked with at a wedding…
brett and erica…the day after!
October 5, 2011First comes love (the day before), then comes marriage (wedding day), and then comes THE DAY AFTER!!!! This post wedding shoot wrapped up our time spent with Brett and Erica. All wedding day stress and nerves were gone and we all just had such a great time during this shoot. Adios Mexico!
One of my favorites…
Another favorite!
Ok, who I am kidding. I love them in ALL of these!!

Who wishes they had a picture just like this of them on their wedding day? THIS GIRL!!! Erica…stunning.
